OBSERVATION
Growing as a Child of God
Romans 12:2 and 3
Renewing our minds constantly means changing how we see by thinking and doing differently. This means our minds and our being/desires is to get to know God more and more so we can do his will and obey him.
Joshua 1: 8 and 9
God says to get to know his will by reading and studying his word.! He is with us! So don’t fear following God.
What it Means to Love God
As shown in 1 John 2; acknowledge your signs and repent. Obey God’s Command by doing his word (1 John 1: 5 to 10 and 1 John 2: 3 to 4). Love other People ( 1st John 2:9 to 11). Never give up on God (1 John 2: 12 to 14). Reject things of the world: Pride/the Flesh/Greed. Ask for the holy spirit and grow (1st John 2: 26-24).
God’s Commandment of Love
Matthew 22:37-40 à Love God with all your mind, soul, and Heart. Love your neighbor as yourself.
Every other command of God and even his words are tied into these two greatest commandments. God calls us to be different, not like the people of the world. Be like Jesus by being selfless, sacrificial, by giving to others and doing the will of God, 1 John 2: 6
APPLICATION TO LIFE:
Trials and hardships of life are inevitable. Everyone including me goes through some difficulty in life. It is only a matter of time until one’s faith is tested because of life’s struggles. I have gone through moments in life where my faith has been tested and I pass or fail but that does not mean that I am not a child of God. Faith is a life-long process that only encs when Jesus comes back and after death. Jesus is lord even when we fail, I pick and keep moving forward. I trust God through the process.
PRAYER: Dear God empower me by your Holy Spirit to live victoriously and to love others in Jesus Name. Amen.
