Welcome All!

It’s another Devotional Wednesday

Let’s get to it....

This month’s theme is

God in Suffering is God in all Comfort.

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 1 vs 3-11

Connecting Verse: 1 Peter 4:12-19

Observation: Christians share in the sufferings of Christ and also are comforted in him. There is no true child of God who does not sacrifice for others and for the sake of God’s kingdom. Giving up pleasures of life in fasting, praying and laboring for God  by spreading the good news of Jesus to save others will bring persecutions, trials and challenges of life. God tells us in 1 Peter 4 to not give up on doing good even if we suffer for righteousness because we are Christians. When we share in Christ’s suffering, we are also comforted in him; and likewise if God comforts us in our own sufferings we also ought to comfort other  believers in their sufferings. As a body of Christ we suffer together and comfort one another as God comforts all. For example, when we share our stories of deliverance from great sufferings, oppression and hardships because of our faith, goodness or labor for God we are testifying to his glory. In doing this we are encouraging others in their faith to comfort them in their suffering  and that they may see and give thanks to God.

Application to Life: As a christian, sometimes I am not always trusting God because of lack of faith and patience. Often I find that I am anxious about things in life, which steals my peace and joy. Therefore I pray and surrender this weakness to God because it is only him that can comfort us by his Holy spirit strength. Also because I am plugged into a ministry or a church, I can be encouraged by others in listening to their testimonies of God’s deliverance, healing and blessings in their lives. I aspire to be more thankful of, and  trusting in God by hearing other’s triumphant stories, by praying and receiving prayers.

Prayer: Oh God Abba Father, thank you for all your blessings in my life. God may your mercy and grace deliver me and comfort me in my sufferings as I continue to trust in you by the strength of your Holy Spirit. In Jesus Name, Amen.

About Me

As a young adult still trying to figure life out, I have got my own handful of rolloercoster adventures of life: good and bad. Having my own personal experiences, one thing I can say that was a constant factor that brought me out and through was my faith.
