Hey all welcome to another Devotional Wednesday!
This month’s theme is 🥁🥁🥁
Holy Spirit Authority
Key Scripture: 2 Corinthians 3
Supporting Scripture: 2 Corinthians 2:17
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 3 and 2 Corinthians 2:17
Observations: Reflected Themes
The Authority of the Holy Spirit: Ministers of God that follow in the integrity of the gospel, do so according to the Holy Spirit and because of their fruits. The Gospel of God that is preached with authority is done so out of the sincere desire to truthfully save souls from destruction and tell of the name Jesus.
The transforming power of the New Covenant vs the Law and its freedom to know Jesus, truth : True ministers of God are qualified by God by the power of the Holy Spirit because they are not seeking for their own glory to gain ( 2 Corinth 2:17), but rather are seeking to glorify God in their labor to preach Christ name. Ultimately true ministers plant the seed of Jesus' name and then it is the Holy Spirit received by people saved, that does the work of repentance in the lives of the believer.
The glory of God reflected in those who have the Holy Spirit: The law could not reveal the full glory of God to people or the world because of sin and death that was made so through the weakness of the flesh (sinful nature). Man was weak to keep the Law of righteousness. Jesus and the New Covenant of his blood to the Holy Spirit gave freedom from sin and death by knowledge of the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. So therefore the Law of righteousness is in our hearts and by the power of the Holy Spirit believers in Christ are transformed from glory to glory looking more like Jesus God everyday.
Application to Life: As a Christian it is very important that you know the integrity of any ministry or minister you go to or belong to. Not every ministry is Holy Spirit graced and not every minister is called by God. By their fruits you shall know them, the bible says, therefore if you are not witnessing the fruits of the Holy Spirit in a ministry, church, a minister; it is a red flag warning you to see if truly that is where you belong or if you should trust such a person.
Prayer: Holy Spirit lead me to serve God in truth and in spirit and qualify me oh God to your service, in Jesus Name, Amen.
