Welcome to another Devotional Wednesday

The theme is...

“ Jesus Righteousness, my Righteousness”

Key Scripture: Romans 7

SCRIPTURE: ROMANS Chapter 7

OBSERVATION: What are we without Jesus, and his covering? We are nothing without Jesus our savior, his blood speaks for us to defend us before God the father. Romans 7, the holy scripture makes it clear that  human beings  have no  power within them-selves to overcome sin and be good. The  sinfulness of the flesh ( meaning having the capability to do evil) puts a battle within all people to choose between good and evil and so therefore: God or  devil, Hell or Heaven, Death or Life. This struggle within one is always present; However from the  time of Adam to Jesus  there came a heavenly revolution to change  the power balance for people of earth. Before Jesus, the Law of Moses was the only way to practice righteousness, however people were still sinning and increasing in it, especially Israel. Against the Law of Moses, sin always won- the law showed that humans, the Jewish people and the Israelites were losing the battle  over sin. Therefore, Jesus is the heavenly revolution that came to destroy the power of sin and death forever. The Law was weak to save because the human flesh was powerless to sin. Jesus  then gives us his righteousness through his Holy Spirit by the continual washing of his blood, before God. So because God’s children believe in his son, Jesus we are made righteous in his sight. We increase in goodness and the power of the flesh to do evil dies day by day.

APPLICATION TO LIFE: Acknowledging God in everything  humbles one to know that it’s not anything we do but Jesus, God in us, the Holy Spirit that memes us good and to win. Pray always for the Holy Spirit and over everything and also all types prayers, so you will be strengthened to continue doing good (Ephesians 6:18)

PRAYER: Thank God by Jesus that I can overcome my sinful flesh to grow in righteousness. Amen
