In Christ we Overcome

Hello All and Welcome to a Devotional Christmas Wednesday ( 👋)

Christmas season is always a Joyous time! We reflect on the love of Christ, the love of God.

1 John 5:1-5 and John 16:33 brings the promise of Christ victory to us

This Christmas season we can look forward in our lives knowing that Christ has won the victory for us.🎄💖

5 Major Key points are highlighted in 1 john 5:1-5

1. If you believe in Christ, that he is the son of God then you are a child of God

2. If you love God then you would do his commandments and all of God’s commandments hang on the commandment of love “love thy lord thy God and love thy neighbor as yourself”

3. If you love God, do his commandments, then you also love his people?

4. If you are a child of God. Then you are victorious over the world and all its evils.

5. Our faith; our belief in Christ Gives us the victory.

1 John 5:4- For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.

We also come to see that Jesus assures us of this victory in John 16:33; we can withstand whatever is in the world because he has taken the victory over it. Jesus is with us and therefore we too overcome.

Our faith as Christians lies in Christ himself, without him our faith cannot stand. Christ took the victory in his death and resurrection. He took victory over all things; death, sin, principalities, powers, sickness, the devil, hell, etc. Those that call themselves sons and daughters of God, likewise have the victory because they identify themselves in Christ. When we accept Christ, his victory becomes our victory because he is in us and us in him.

Our faith in Christ gives us victory over all things!

Application in Life: our faith should remind us of the victory we have through Christ.

Prayer: God lead and equip me to live a life of victory through Jesus. Amen
