Happy Wednesday!!
Welcome to Devotional Wednesdays!
Let’s get into this week’s theme Y’all... (🥁🥁🥁)
"Humbled by his Grace: Saved to Love and Good Works"
We’ll draw this week’s theme from the following scriptures...
Titus 3: (1-11) and Ephesians 2: (8-13), Romans 3:23
None of us is perfect, without sin or have the cleanest record; at one point or another we use to be like the next person. We all started the same, “in the world” at one point, but when we became born again and made the decision to change, we became new and came out of the world. We all were once sinners as the bible says in Romans 3:23, it’s only the grace of God that had saved us to be his children and that same grace of God is available to anyone. God is love and has given us the commandment to love, if he loved us then we likewise must love as he loves. This is the essence of the scripture in Titus 3: 1-11. The people we serve or are under can be equally saved like us. Our bosses, teachers, parents or families, people in our communities, our leaders, have readily available to them the same grace and mercy that God provides to all. We may even thorough our character and behavior attract them to Christ because of his love in us. In remembering that we were once like these people, lost in the evils of the world and of life, in our human flesh; we can have hope that one day they too can receive salvation in Christ by the grace and mercy of God. The timeless truth that we were saved by the grace of God out of the world and sin through Christ by the power of baptism and the Holy Spirit is something we can never forget. This truth keeps us humbled and allows us to consider others as potential children of God and makes us to love better. It also makes us to be encouraged to continue to do good because we know what he did for us, what we came out of, what we use to be like and What a new lifen in Christ is like. God created us to good works, as seen in Ephesians 2:10; He had before planned this for us. Being born again by the salvation that Christ offers us, allows us to come into these good works.
Application: I know some times we like to complain and have something to say about those over us, maybe they are not the best of persons but we have to remember that they are human like us too and be forgiving of others. When you find yourself feeling frustrated or disagreeing with people around you or where you are serving at the moment: your job, your school, your home, your community remember that God loved you when you were a mess. Also know that it is possible to continue doing good, Jesus is the prime example of good deeds. God tells us to abide in good works, and we shall be rewarded. No matter where you are serving or who you are serving under remain faithful in it and have in your heart that God is the ultimate master over your life and know that he rewards hard work, honest work and good work.
Prayer: Dear God, my Father I pray oh God that your love fills me and teaches me to love others better. God strengthen me to remain faithful in doing good and working in every good thing. In Jesus name.
