Hello All!
Welcome to another Devotional Wednesday
This Month’s theme is ...
God in Relationships of Union
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 7 :27-38
Observation: According to God’s will and blessing for all, marriage is a good thing. Marriage is such a blessing that protects one from sexual immoral sins. Some have great control over their bodies, others have some control, while others have very little control over their bodies. Remember all sins are outside the body or rather don't degrade the body, except for fornication, adultery and other sexually immoral sins. Therefore marriage is a sacred institution God has blessed between man and woman. In the scriptures of 1 Corinthians 7:27-31 God warns about the increased temptations in marriage because of the divided attention to spouse, away fromGod. Husband seeks to please wife and God too, wife seeks to please Husband and God too. Everything outside of God is vanity, even if it's a good thing;marriage, although holy and sacred before God involves vanities that give room for increased temptations for sin. So therefore St. Paul warns us that in everything we do in our lives it must glorify God and we can’t be totally taken by materialism or affections and relations of people, even our emotions. Also another truth of Godly relationships is this, God completely permits dating and courtship, there’s a difference. Dating is when there is a love relation between man and woman (virgins 1 or both of them) while still maintaining virginity; without the intent to marry. While courtship is the relationship between a man and woman of love interest with the intention to marry; while still maintaining virginity.
Application to Life: Feel free to read the whole of 1 Corinthians 7 on marriage, relationship of love interest, dating and courtship. My life has reflected all of the phases of love interest relationship in this 1 Corinthians 7 and all according to God’s mercy because no one is perfect. The word of God says in Romans 3:23-24 all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and are under grace through Christ Jesus' redemption power.
Prayer: Oh God, may your grace and mercy empower me to love you first and love my spouse with the fear of God. In Jesus Name, Amen.
