Welcome to another Devotional Wednesday

It’s a New year and We can Do things differently; Starting with how we love each other!

Lets Get into the New Theme… 🄁🄁🄁

Dealing With Offences: What God Says?

Key Scriptures:

Matthew 5:38-48

Psalm 71

Matthew 18: 21-22

Colossians 3:13-15

In this new year, one of my New Year resolutions is to be able to free myself or to live above people's offense. I am mechanic person who gets very emotional and bitter over an offense, so am learning to live above that. For this new year, I want you to think about ways you can live above the offense of others. This can be anyone; close or far, familiar person or stranger. When we look at scripture, we what God says about offense. God doesn’t want us holding on to hurts, offense or pain caused by others, and he doesn’t want us staying bitter. So again, how can we, including me live above such things. Well, we can learn how by looking at these key concepts from scripture!

1) Learn to forgive quickly: It is important to forgive others because this free us and them and because this follows God’s command of Love. Jesus did it for you, so if you want to be forgiven by God and man you too should do the same.

2) Continue loving anyway: It’s hard to love someone when they offend, hurt, use, or cause pain but this brings us healing, strengthens and takes us above the situation. ā€œGod loved us while we were yet sinnersā€ (Romans 5:8). Again, God’s commands us to love--- even enemies or those we don’t readily or easily respond to. Love everyone and not only people who are good to you (Matthew 5:38-48)

3) Give Thanks and Share God and his testimonies to others: Giving thanks and testimony opens heaven’s blessings to your heart, life, and situation.

Application to Life: When I do get offended, I often keep away form source of hurt and become emotional, but I do forgive and still love theme anyway. However, I want to be able to move on quickly so that it doesn’t keep me from doing things. I must then readily pray and forgive quickly and continue loving. Also, I can start to praise and give thanks to God for me and said person so there is healing.

Prayer: Dear God empower me to forgive, love and praise beyond any offence. In Jesus Name.
