Scripture: Psalm 86, Psalm 13, Psalm 143
Observation: Have you ever been in a situation, or faced a difficult trial of faith where all you could do is cry out to God. The book of Psalms is filled with prayers of God’s mercy. On the topic of God’s mercy, we’ll look at 3 psalms which narrate prayers to entreat the mercy of God. God wants us to come to him with everything, because he is a merciful God who’s infinitely greater than our enemies and troubles.
Psalm 86
· Oh, God remember your servant.
· Daily cry for mercy b/c God is merciful.
· God is glorified among nations.
· Because of what God can do, may he deliver me.
· God b/c I trust in you, teach me your way.
· Strengthen me and save me by your mercy Lord.
· Because you’re my God, by your mercy bless me to the shame of my enemies.
· I acknowledge only one true God.
· As a servant of God, I trust him and will remember him in time of trouble.
Psalm 13
· Because God is merciful remember me and have mercy.
· Oh Lord, my heart is overwhelmed.
· My sleep, oh God is taken by sorrow.
· I will trust in God and will praise him for he is Good and kind.
Psalms 143
· My trouble is too much God, for your mercy deliver me before death nears.
· God is good and his mercy alone not anything I do.
· Because I remember your wonders, I pray to guide me oh God.
· Strengthen me and destroy my enemies, oh Lord.
In Jesus Name!
Application to Life: We are all in need of God’s mercy daily. I am learning to acknowledge God daily by pleading for forgiveness, righteousness, and protection because of his merciful way. Psalm 13, Psalm 143 and Psalm 86 are all very good and powerful scriptures to pray earnestly for God’s mercy to battle against any force of darkness and breakthrough in any evil situation. Also, these psalms are comforting to the soul and spirit to remember that God is merciful.
A MERCIFUL GOD
