Hello All! 👋
Welcome to another Devotional Wednesday!
The theme is Persevering with the Holy Spirit. 🕊️
Scripture: Jude 1 vs 17 to 22
Observation: As children of God, we know that the Holy Spirit is a must, no life in Christ without it. God also promises his Holy Spirit to all who believe. So then what is Jude 1: 17 – 19 warning us of and in vs 20 to 22, encourage us to, concerning the Holy Spirit. It is Impossible to please God or live for God without the Holy Spirit. With the knowledge of Romans 8 and Galatians 5, it is confirmed that a life without the Holy Spirit is a contentious life against the will of God. Here in Jude 1, those who are professing Christ but denying the power of him are without his spirit. These people are only living for their selfish wills, destroy the good of his people, and even tempting others to stray. Now we see it confirmed again that living a life of the Holy Spirit is a selfless one. God’s power of love by his Holy Spirit in us reaches out to save others and bless them, even sinners. This tells believers that till the end the Holy Spirit is working.
Application to Life: How can you and I receive the Holy Spirit? God tells us to ask, and we shall receive and not doubt. When we receive the Holy Spirit, we do his will and follow his principles (his word). Fasting is also another way to grow in the Holy Spirit because it kills the desires of the flesh. Reading the word and praying also helps to grow the Holy Spirit in you to know what the will of the Father is.
Prayer: Oh God, giver of all good things send fort your Holy Spirit in my life, in me in Jesus name. Thank you.
