Hello All!

Welcome to another  Devotional Wednesday

Let's get to it!

The Scriptural theme is...

!Judge by Mercy!

Key Scripture--->1 Corinthians 6:1-11

Reference Scripture---> Matthew 18:22, Matthew 22:39, Romans 12:6-8, 1 Corinthians 12:27-31, 1 John 4:18-21

Observation: God has called us his children to a higher standard. If our heavenly father believes so much in us to live righteous and godly lives, then we ought to also have faith to do God’s will.  The greatest commandment is the command of love (Matthew 22:39). We fail to love one another, especially in the church, we fail to love God (1 John 4:18-21). St Paul admonishes us in order to encourage us to walk in the Holy Spirit. When it comes to brotherly love of the christian brethren. In 1 Corinthians 6: 1-11, we see that God wants us to be merciful towards each other by not bringing our issues/disputes before secular courts of unbelievers who bring unjust or harsh judgments. Instead of getting even  or doing the same wrong back to others; we as believers should be merciful towards one another. The gift of counseling, wisdom, knowledge, leadership pf the Holy Spirit ( Romans 12: 6-8) and (1 Corinthians 12:27-31) is there for us to lead, edify, encourage and advice each other; when issues and disputes arise. The church is a very visible community/body so therefore if there is no love, then it has failed in its purpose of being a light because the truth of Godliness is compromised and that leaves room for doubt and lies of sin.

Application to Life: The greatest commandment is love to God first, then to each other. The brotherly love is very important not just in the church but among believers in a community. Love covers the multitude of sins ( 1 Peter 4:8). I love people, most everyone unless they’re evil and wicked. However love or loving people is a forever growth process in my opinion. So I say my love is being perfected.

Prayer: Dear God, fill me with your Holy Spirit and destroy every sinful and evil desire in me  that steals from my fruit of love. In Jesus name Amen.

About Me

As a young adult still trying to figure life out, I have got my own handful of rolloercoster adventures of life: good and bad. Having my own personal experiences, one thing I can say that was a constant factor that brought me out and through was my faith.
